The average American politician is a weak person, both mentally and physically. When you look at most of Congress, most of them look sickly and unable to stand for themselves, much less their country.

Why is this a problem? After all, it’s not a congressman’s job to go overseas and fight in physical wars.

The problem is, in Washington, there is a system of pressures and blackmail set up to take down anybody who voices a serious threat to the establishment, and if you don’t have the backbone to stand up to them, you are easily corruptible.

For an obvious example of this system of blackmail, look no further than former Congressman Madison Cawthorn, who on a podcast in March 2022 claimed senior politicians invited him to drug-filled orgies. Barely a month later in early May 2022, a private video of a partially naked Cawthorn was somehow published by American Muckrakers PAC, which was used to then used to tarnish his reputation.

This is a tale as old as the United States. The now famous case of Alexander Hamilton, while he was the Secretary of the Treasury, might be the first case of this character tarnishing when someone threatened the establishment. Although the musical Hamilton made famous his affair with Maria Reynolds, few know that he was investigated by multiple committees in the House of Representatives by his political rivals for financial corruption while creating the first central bank, and he was completely exonerated every time he was investigated.

Even the relationship with Maria Reynolds was only leaked to the public by one of his political rivals Thomas Jefferson through the journalist James Callender. Jefferson obtained the letters from James Monroe, who received them in confidence from Hamilton in another investigation.

All the investigations and character attacks Alexander Hamilton underwent were because he stood for his ideas. If he submitted to his political enemies, these investigations and public smears would’ve gone away, and he likely would’ve kept his political power. However, he thought the prosperity of the United States was more important than anything that happened to him, so he was willing to take the slings and arrows for the greater good.

Hamilton had this spirit because he was a product of the Founding Fathers and the Revolutionary War. Every one of the great men who signed the Declaration of Independence knew that if they were captured, they would be killed. Then during the Revolutionary War, five of the signers were captured and tortured as traitors. Nine of them died from wounds or diseases they received fighting in the war. They all knew what they were trying to achieve was more important than their lives, and were willing to sacrifice their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to create the United States.

This spirit is completely lost on the majority of our politicians. Serving in Washington is seen as another job, not a sacred responsibility to advocate for and lead the people they represent. Most of our representatives will sell their sole to make a few dollars from Boeing or by trading on insider knowledge on the stock market. I would trust very few to sacrifice their reputation, much less their lives, for the good of this country.

When it comes to representing and leading a group of people as our politicians should be doing, you need to be willing to die for those people. Every military leader has to be willing to die for their men, every parent is willing to die for their child, and every political leader needs to be willing to die for the people they represent.

If you’re not willing to die for your country, you are corruptible. Evil people will threaten you so they can achieve their ends. As a representative for your country, you have a responsibility to do what's best for your people, and if you’re not willing to sacrifice your Life, Fortune, and sacred Honor as the founders did, then you’re not cut out for the job.

To represent this country, you must be Willing to Die for this country.
